Convert More Sales!

Let's say you read my blog last week and now you know you need a funnel for your business. You build one based on my tips but now you need to know if it's working. This is the next stage of the funnel process: testing and troubleshooting. This phase is something a lot of entrepreneurs have trouble with because they think if they build a sales conversion funnel then it automatically works. However, that's not the case. There's a lot of testing that needs to be done to see if it's working correctly.

Last Weeks Blog: What's a Funnel?

If your funnel is working well, you should be able to look at your traffic going in and predict your sales coming out. But what if your funnel isn't converting leads into sales? That's what we're discussing today. Keep reading I'll show you the problems that most businesses have in their sales converting funnel and how you can change it so that you'll be rolling in the money.

There's No Traffic Flowing into Your Funnel

Every funnel needs traffic. Traffic is a steady flow of people who visit your website. Web traffic should convert to email subscribers then buyers so if your traffic is slow or nonexistent you can kiss your Q4 sales quota goodbye. It's no wonder people struggle with this part of the funnel. You spend a lot of time creating content to get your audience's attention. Now you need to get your content in front of them. How can you get more eyes on your content and more subscribers into your funnel?

Solution

There are dozens of ways to generate traffic. My favorite method is search engine optimization a.k.a. SEO. This is an easy method where you optimize your content so that search engines will serve it to their visitors for free. This puts a constant stream of Google searchers or Yahoo-ers on your website looking for the answers you have. Your next option is social media marketing. This means getting on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, forums and other hangouts wherever your audience might be. Engage with them where they are and always invite them back to your website. This is a great method of traffic generation because it's organic and it puts you right where your potential customers are. Combine paid ads with your social media marketing for quicker results.

There's so much more to traffic generation and if done right you can grow your email list and your authority in your niche. Download my free 5-day mini course and start applying these methods of traffic generation today.

You Don't Follow Through.

This is a rookie mistake that I actually talked about on Instagram not too long ago. I've seen entrepreneurs build great email landing pages to grow their email list but won't send any follow through emails. Once a subscriber joins their list the subscriber never hears from them again! It's like they deliver the freebie and are scared to send another email. That’s the prime time when a subscriber is waiting to hear from you.

Your Solution

The money is in the follow-through. The next time you create another email opt-in make sure you write the follow-up emails. Line up your offers and have them ready for your new subscribers.

You Don't Ask for The Conversion

Most people don't have a background in copywriting; that's what they hire me for. So it's no surprise to me when I see that people forget or are afraid to include a call to action. A call to action is the desired conversion that you want your visitor to do. For example, with your Instagram post a call to action could be "leave a comment" or "subscribe to my newsletter".

When you ask for the conversion, it gives your visitor a clear next step. When you make the next step easy to do, you remove the ambiguity and make it easy for them to take the next step in your funnel.

Your Solution

Stop creating content for the sake of creating content. Ask yourself what you want your reader to do when they're done with your content. That will be your call to action. Include that with every piece of content you create.

You Don't Have Anything to Offer.

A lot of people think that they can only sell their own offers and their email list. However, that's not true. While you're growing your list, if you don't have anything of your own to offer you can always offer affiliate offers. These are offers that you get a commission on if you sell on behalf of someone else. Affiliate marketing is a great way to add a passive revenue stream to your business while you're growing your email list.

Your Solution

Find entrepreneurs you can work with and promote their offers. Make sure it's something mutually beneficial for both of you. It should also be something that's related to your niche but not in the same exact thing that you offer. That way you're not in direct competition with your affiliate offer.

Troubleshooting your funnel isn’t hard once you know what you're looking for. Now you know some of the most common mistakes.
