Success Story: BAKED by Blair

Site Tweaks For BAKED By Blair.png

Have you ever wanted a few small tweaks done to your website but not a full out change? That’s exactly where Blair was with her website, BAKED by design. Before we worked together Blair’s header on her site was static and functional. It had everything she needed and it was easy to navigate. But, she wanted a small change: to add a drop down to her blog menu. Her idea was to lead her readers straight to the content they want to see, her yummy cookie recipes.

It was easy as cake to set that up, pun fully intended. During our work, Blair also wanted to have a few of her newest blog posts appear on her home page without having to change the entire design. Having your new posts on your homepage is the perfect way to attract more readers to your blog. New content let's your audience know that your site isn't stale. This strategy keeps your homepage fresh with new content straight from your blog. The way we set it up, Blair will never have to touch the front page of her website to showcase her new posts. The posts will automatically populate as soon as she hits publish.

We truly had a great time working with Blair. We just hope she brings some of those delicious looking cupcakes with her the next time.

Here's a quick run down of what we did:

  1. Added a drop down for her blog. The drop downs are connected to her blog categories. Now her readers can read about cookies, cakes or cupcakes!

  2. Add her blog posts to her home page. This will increase visibility of her blog. All the while, attracting her audience to her new content.

Both of these changes may seem small but they will do wonders to enhance the user experience on her website. By displaying her freshest content and sorting it by category her readers won't have to guess how to use her site. This can keep her readers on her site longer and depending on her goals, convert them from readers to buyers.

Do you need these kind of tweaks to your website? Building a website is only the beginning. Over time your business will change and your website will need to change with it. You may need large additions like adding a membership portal. Or, you could be like Blair and only want to add some enhanced features.

The changes we did for Blair are covered by our Technical Support Care Plan and it's the one we recommend the most to our clients. For a monthly subscription you get access to personalized site support so that we can take care of your site as soon as something happens.
